A Message from Our Founder & Managing Director

Namaste,

I am AR Pandey, Founder and Managing Director of Kathmandu Solar.

Like many of us living in the Kathmandu Valley, my journey with renewable energy began out of sheer necessity. I intimately understood the daily frustrations that local families and businesses faced: unpredictable power constraints, skyrocketing electricity and LPG bills, and the dreaded cold showers of a Kathmandu winter. In 2018, I decided it was time to build a sustainable solution.

I founded Kathmandu Solar with a straightforward mission: to deliver reliable, highly efficient, and affordable solar technology to every rooftop in the valley. Today, more than seven years later, we have successfully installed hundreds of systems. We have helped our clients collectively save lakhs of rupees on utility costs, transforming their daily lives with uninterrupted hot water and dependable backup power.

What truly sets Kathmandu Solar apart is that we don’t just sell equipment, we engineer peace of mind. Every product we install, from our premium UltraSun solar water heaters to our custom solar arrays, is explicitly selected and built to withstand Nepal’s unique climate. We back our workmanship with robust warranties and a rapid-response local maintenance team that is always there when you need us.

Thank you for welcoming us into your homes and trusting us with your energy needs. We look forward to powering your family’s sustainable future for decades to come.
